Brand new Tourism website  www.discovermarketdrayton.co.uk  launched for Market Drayton and the surrounding area.

A brand new tourist website has been launched for Market Drayton called www.discovermaketdrayton.co.uk. The website, which is a joint venture between Market Drayton Community Partnership and Market Drayton Town Council, has been developed to showcase the town, as well as to provide useful information for those visiting Market Drayton and the surrounding area. The website will also be a  resource for local residents to access information about  ‘What’s On’ in the area.

www.discovermarketdrayton.co.uk features varied attractions, places to visit as well as key information about local facilities and services such as markets, cafes, restaurants & accommodation. There is also a ‘What’s On’ feature which includes listings of events such as live music, films, festivals, fairs, lectures etc within Market Drayton and the local area.

Businesses who provide services to the tourist industry within and surrounding Market Drayton, are being encouraged to get in touch and list their services on the website.  Entertainment organisations are also being encouraged to make use of the ‘What’s On’ Section, and monthly tourism led ‘things to do’ blog.

Lee Ridgway Chairman of the local Tourism and Visitor Group said, ‘We are absolutely delighted to have developed an online presence for the town of Market Drayton and the surrounding areas. We are proud of the town and want to attract tourists to come and see us and spend money in our town. We will also be promoting Market Drayton as a base /gateway for visitors to discover other parts of Shropshire and attractions in the bordering counties of Cheshire and Staffordshire. We look forward to hearing from local businesses and organisations who want to feature on this brand new website.’

The website goes live on 1st February 2015 & also features a history section, getting around section and an interactive map which enables tourists to find services and attractions quickly and efficiently. It also includes a selection of wonderful photographs taken by local photographer Julia Stanley.

Local tourist led businesses can list their basic services for free or choose to upgrade to either a silver and gold package for further promotion. Please see the listings button on the home page for further information, or email info@discovermarketdrayton.co.uk for further information.
